Booking terms
Last updated 5 August 2026
These terms apply when you book a recording session with DeckShot. Booking a session means you accept them. We’re based in Sydney and work across the city, indoors and outdoors.
What’s included
Every session includes the full performance rig on location and a finished, edited video of your set.
| Essentials | Signature | The Feature | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camera angles | Two | Three | Three |
| 4K video | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Direct-feed mixer audio | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Monitor speakers (pair) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Full edited set | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Separate audio file | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Vertical trailer | — | Yes | Yes |
| Professional DJ setup | — | — | Yes |
| Professional PA system on location | — | — | Yes |
The rig we bring: an all-in-one Pioneer XDJ-RX3 on Essentials and Signature, or two Pioneer CDJ-3000 players and a Pioneer DJM-A9 mixer on The Feature. Every package includes two speakers, and AIAIAI TMA-2 headphones if you’d rather not bring your own. The professional PA system on The Feature needs a continuous mains supply at the location; everything else runs without one. Because of that supply and the volume it carries, The Feature is available at private locations only — rooftops, warehouses, backyards and pools — and not in public areas such as beaches or parks.
Prices, quotes and payment
We quote each session individually, because the price depends on location, travel and date. Your quote sets out the price and forms part of these terms.
- Booking fee. A 25% booking fee holds your date. Until it’s paid, the date stays available to other clients.
- Balance. The balance is due 24 hours before we start.
- Payment methods. You can pay by bank transfer or PayID. Payment details are listed on the quote or invoice.
Cancelling or moving a session
Once we hold your date we turn down other work for it, and the closer we get, the less chance there is of filling it again. What we keep reflects that, and nothing more.
| If you cancel | What happens |
|---|---|
| 14 days or more before | Your booking fee moves to a new date, or we refund it in full |
| 7 to 13 days before | We keep the booking fee |
| Less than 7 days before | We keep the booking fee plus 50% of the balance |
You can move a booked date once at no charge, as long as you give us at least 7 days notice and we have the new date free.
If we have to cancel for any reason of our own, you get a full refund, including the booking fee.
Weather
The DJ rig is fully portable and runs without mains power, but it isn’t waterproof. If weather threatens an outdoor session, either of us can postpone it — we’d rather move a session than shoot a compromised one.
Postponing for weather costs you nothing. Your booking fee carries over to the new date, and it doesn’t use up your free reschedule.
The location is your responsibility
You choose the spot. Before the session, please make sure that:
- We’re allowed to be there and to film. Permission from the owner, building manager, venue or council is yours to arrange, including any permit a public space requires.
- We can physically get the gear in. Tell us in advance about stairs, no lift, long carries, gates or parking restrictions — it affects how long setup takes.
- Anyone appearing on camera is happy to be filmed.
If we arrive and can’t shoot because access or permission wasn’t arranged, the session is treated as a cancellation on the day.
Footage and how it can be used
You get full rights to use the finished video and audio however you like, including promoting yourself commercially — socials, your website, pitching for bookings.
We get the right to use the footage in our own portfolio, showreel and social accounts, and to show it to prospective clients.
If you’d rather your session stayed private, tell us before the shoot and we won’t publish anything from it.
Music rights are yours, not ours
We film the performance. We don’t clear the music in it.
A recorded DJ set contains other people’s copyrighted recordings. YouTube, Instagram and TikTok run automated copyright detection, and a set can be muted, blocked, age-restricted, or hit with a claim that sends any revenue to the rights holder. That is outside our control.
When we say your video arrives ready to upload, we mean it is finished, colour-graded and synced — not that a platform will leave it up. Clearing rights for the tracks you play is your responsibility.
Delivery
We deliver within 48 hours of the end of your session, by download link. If anything is going to delay that, we’ll tell you before the deadline rather than after it.
If something goes wrong
If a technical failure on our side means we can’t deliver what you paid for, we’ll either reshoot at no charge or refund the affected part — your choice.
We’re not responsible for things outside our control: a venue pulling access on the day, a power cut where you’re supplying power, or authorities shutting down a public shoot.
Equipment
The rig we bring stays ours. If it’s damaged during the session by you or your guests beyond normal use, we may charge for repair or replacement.
You’re welcome to plug in your own gear, but we can’t guarantee it will work with our setup, and we can’t be responsible for damage to it.
Liability
Our total liability for a session is limited to the amount you paid for it. We don’t cover indirect losses, such as a booking you lost because a video was late.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where the ACL applies, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service, or paying the cost of having it re-supplied, to the extent the law allows.
Changes
The terms that apply to your session are the ones published when you booked. Changes don’t apply retrospectively.
